Why do most doctors recommend avoiding sunscreen for babies?
Sunscreen is messy and chemically-based! A sun-protective swimsuit will
lessen the amount of skin you'll need to screen.

Will a regular t-shirt protect my child from the harmful sun
rays?
Clothing must have a UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) of at least
15 to be considered sun protective. A typical t-shirt has
a UPF of 7 (Source: Morehouse School of Medicine). Splashskins
are UPF 30 or above (blocking out 96-98% of the sun's damaging rays).

"What is
the difference between Splashskins Materials and other UV protective swimsuits?
Our Splashskins Unisuits use 80/20 nylon-spandex tricot, which holds its
four-way stretch and moves any way the body moves. Other fabrics stretch
only two ways, tightening under play conditions and don’t hold up to wear
as well.
Our fabric: - Can be stretched repeatedly and still recover to
very near its original length and shape
- Generally, can be stretched more than 500% without breaking
- Stronger, more durable and higher retractive force than rubber
- Lightweight, soft, smooth, supple
- Resistant to deterioration by body oils, perspiration, lotions or
detergents
- Abrasion resistant

What is the UPF rating for Splashskins by MadMax™ swimwear?
Our fabrics are rated UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) 30 or greater;
with most of our suits offering UPF 50. UPF 30 blocks out approximately
96% of the sun’s damaging rays and UPF 50 blocks out 98%. Compare that
with a typical white t-shirt which has a UPF of 7. To
protect your kids from the sun, you want high levels of UPF.

| How
durable are your fabrics?
We test all our fabrics for durability. All of our fabrics are
repeatedly test-washed to see how they hold up under the stress
of regular cleanings. Our fabrics don’t fade or wear after repeated
washings. So you can machine wash our suits (cold)! (We don't
recommend using the dryer, however: let the suits hang dry, which
won't take long.)
Don’t Forget the Zipper!
We use extra-long Vision zippers, which are rugged and durable,
and long enough to make the suits easy to put on and take off.
Every zipper has a special Splashskins zipper-pull to increase
ease of use and each suit has an inside zipper flap to protect
tender skin. We add a Splashskins zipper-pull to make the zippers
even easier to use for little hands.
Short zippers are cheaper, but they make children’s swimsuits
harder to put on and take off for both parents and kids.
What is the "Safety Stitch"?
Our suits are manufactured with a mock safety stitch, which reinforces
the seams by adding an extra stitch to every regular stitch. This
means our suits hold up to the most active play, and won’t separate
or tear at the seams.
